I even thought that I have already written about how to clear cache memory on any Android phone, only when one of my course mates asked me in a live class session and I wanted to refer her to Techinformat.

That was when I discovered that I’m yet to write about such an important topic.

But really, why do you want to clear the cache memory on your Android phone?

One of the common reasons is when you notice your device slowing down unusually.

Now you should also understand that the cache memory has to with the applications you have installed in your phone.

It is the memory that holds the data from your applications (different from your storage memory).

How to clear cache memory on any Android phone

Clearing cache memory on any Android device has a similar step irrespective of the Android version or brand that you are using.

Here are the steps on Android version 7. (similar steps in other Android versions)

  • Navigate to your device settings
  • Apps
  • Tap the app you wish to clear its cache
  • Touch the “storage” option and you will find a “clear cache button.

Note: If the app you are clearing its cache is an app that uses logins, note that you will need to log in again after clearing the cache as the memory holding the login data must have been cleared.
