ES file explorer smart lock phone screen lock disable

I noticed ES file explorer smart lock on my phone after re-installing the app (ES file explorer).

While I was writing about theme park APK download yesterday, I noticed this smart lock by ES file explorer on my phone screen instead of my usual lock screen.

I was not comfortable with it the way it was.

I noticed this while my phone was plugged in and charging, I don’t know if this smart lock by ES file explorer is always active when the phone is unplugged.

Oh! I now remember that was even the reason I uninstalled the app from my phone the other time.

While I was writing about the Gionee theme park, I had to reinstall it, because I needed to share an APK file.

Fortunately or unfortunately, this is the app I usually use in exporting my android apps to .APK files, so I had no option than to reinstall it.

Since the problem persisted, I was forced to find a lasting solution to it.

So if your phone is using ES file explorer smart lock to lock your phone screen instead of the phone lock you used before you installed the app, not to worry; you are not alone.

I was there too.

It might interest you to know that this feature can be disabled by just toggling of a button.

If you are equally not comfortable with the ES file explorer smart lock like me, here is how to disable it.

  • When the screen is locked with blue background, check the top right corner of your phone screen
  • You should see a gear icon (settings)
  • That’s where to find the toggle button to either keep it on or turn it off
  • Tap on the settings icon at the top right corner of the screen and you should be able to disable it.
